Today, the advancement in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science has the potential to transform the way businesses operate by assisting knowledge workers in communicating analysis findings, supporting evidence, and making decisions.

Established in 2019, the Centre for Applied Artificial Intelligence at Macquarie University (AI@MQ) helps organisations put Artificial Intelligence and Data at the centre of their capabilities to redefine how organisations create, capture, and share value.  AI@MQ funds the Data Science Lab and the Big Data Society at Macquarie University to cover the full spectrum of topics related to Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Big Data.

Long-term objectives of understanding Artificial Intelligence and its applications are bold and ambitious, and we know that making significant progress in this field cannot be done in isolation. That is why we have two complementary components in AI@MQ Research Centre:

• Industry Streams:  Our industry streams (e.g., AI-enabled Policing, AI-enabled Banking, AI-enabled Education, AI-enabled Health, and more) are led by our industry partners, such as Australian Federal Police, TATA Consultancy Services, Domain, ITIC, trUUth, Faethm, Prospa, Yirigaa, and more.
• Research Programs: Our Research Programs (e.g., Process Automation, Data Curation, Cognitive Technology, Smart Entities, IoT-enabled Processes, and Storytelling with Data) are led by world-class leaders in Artificial Intelligence and Data science.
